How it stays accurate
Time math uses the IANA time zone database that every modern browser carries, so daylight saving rules are always current without us touching anything. Weather and sunrise data come from the open Open-Meteo service. Your city lists and settings are saved on your own device and nowhere else.
Why we built it
This started with one annoying habit. Every time we needed to know what time it was for a relative overseas, or whether a call at "3 PM Eastern" meant lunch or dinner for us, we ended up on a page that took longer to load than the question took to answer. So we built the version we wanted: a handful of tools that answer in a second and don't get in the way. The world clock and the converter came first. Weather, sunrise and the moon followed, because those are the other things people look up about far-away places. The countdown was for a wedding.
Then we found the questions behind the tools were worth writing about. Why does China run on one clock? Why does spring forward hurt more than fall back? How does a forecast actually get made? The guides are our answers, in plain words.
